Tik tok....- It's time for some retro art!

While writing a response paper for a seminar I'm taking this semester I accidentally came across Gerald Murphy’s pre-pop art paintings. They are all really appealing to me, since they all possess some good portion of vintage and timelessness. A also always liked the combination of the neutral grey and shiny yellow.

Two little Noshers

One moere post about my 'old' amigurumis from last year...
Original pattern is the "bear and honey pot" pattern from Ana Paula Rimoli.
I just added whiskers, lashes, a 'jam glove' plus an ear cover and different ears for the kitten. The glove and the jammy ear cover kinda turn them into little Winnie the Pooh friends^^

Song/artist of the week: Seapony - Sailing

I don't know how I could have possibly missed this (new) single from dream pop band SEAPONY...

Their album Go With ME accompanied me during my last years summer vacation. -Which makes perfect sense, since their sound is so summerish breezy, and the front singer's voice so relaxingly soft.
=>Perfect symbiosis

(Hope they will release a new album until summer...)

An apple a day...

This is one of my favourite snapshots of last years photo session with my friend Stephie.

Pattern from the book 'Amigurumi World' by Ana Paula Rimoli. -Just added some green cheeks ^^

NEW FEATURE: Song/Artist of the week

The member of the Vivian girls Frankie Rose's side project impresses with a sometimes ethereal and strummy, sometimes surfer popish lo-fi retro pop sound.
(Similar artist: La Sera)

Them other amis / Lost but not forgotten

Unfortunately I did not update my ami-creations I made in springtime last year. Special thanks to my friend Stephie S. who helped me taking the lovely pictures of the little amis. So here they are^^

Sproutie:

Pattern from Ana Paula Rimoli (original title: A Little Stump)
I just added a sideshoot with a leaf and of course a face.
I made this little guy in anticipation of the Tree Love pattern from the book 'Amigurumi Toy Box'...

Blossom Bears #03 - Lily Waters:

For the head I used the Valenine Bears pattern from the book 'Amigurumi World', torso, arms and legs are from the Amigurumi Bear & Pot of Honey pattern by Ana Paula Rimoli, the rest I created myself :)

Blossom Bears #02 - Buttercup:

The original bear pattern I used is the bear from the Tiny ami pattern from the book 'Amigurumi World' by Ana Paula Rimoli

Polly Polar Bear & Pete Penguin:

The bear pattern I used is the bear from the Tiny ami pattern (she turned out a big bigger, due to the thick fuzzy wool), together with the penguin pattern it is from the book 'Amigurumi World' by Ana Paula Rimoli
Pete is now owned by my newlywed friends R&T, since T. adores penguins.

Patsie Pear

Pattern from the book 'Amigurumi World' by Ana Paula Rimoli.

That's it for now... I am still working on the Blossom Bears line, since I kinda fell in love with them (and especially creating them:D)
There are still 3-5 more amis I made last year that I haven't postet yet, which I wanna share soon.
So stay tuned for more cuteness n_n

DaWanda shopping spree

I just bought this groovy greenish-yellow 70s lamp

and the lovely original candlestand from Jens
Quistgaard. Two words: bargain goods. -The candlestand was literally half the price.
I think I will have to be careful about not buying too many things from this shop....
Can't wait to decorate my room with my newly-decs :)
